a. How do the adult relationships you have observed in your field experience promote or threaten a supportive and challenging learning environment for the infants and toddlers in their care? When I did my observation, the teachers were down on the floor with the children and interacting with each of them. The teacher let one of the infants explore on his own as he was more mobile than the others in the room. I believe that relationships promote a healthy learning environment as infants can count on the teachers every day. There is a routine in the facility and the children have become accustomed to the routine and they know what to expect. They eat and sleep at the same time every day. They do this because they know what to expect. They have a variety of toys and other learning things available for the children to explore. These observations show positive relationships with the children in the care of these teachers as they are showing the children that they care, and they build the day around activities that support the environment of the infants. b. What can you do to strengthen the relationship with the adults you are working with and serving in your field experience? I think there are several things that you can do to build relationships with the other adults that you are working with. The first is listening, they have been around longer than you and know the children and the families that they are working with. Listening to what they have to say being a trustworthy person and not go around gossiping with information that they have shared with me. I also think that it would be very important to respect the boundaries of others that I am working with. I am willing to offer to help them, but also know when they may just need a minute to them self as the day may be stressful.
