Fernanda Figueroa Research Report Proposal Assignment The social issue I am going to talk is about immigration crisis in Canada. Some immigrants have to deal with racism and discrimination when they come to Canada. It is difficult for them to find jobs, an affordable housing and acceptance among citizens (Harrell, et al). It is important to highlight the importance of immigration in developed countries. Newcomers are an important part of Canada's economy. They contribute to the labour force; they pay taxes to fund the public services, such as health care, education and other social benefits the government provides (Government of Canada, 2020). Immigrants do not take away citizen's jobs, and they should not be sent back to their countries. In addition, immigrants have struggled enough back home to face discrimination and racism in the new country of residence. They should be supported and people should respect them. This research is to advocate for immigrants, so they can have fair opportunities as a Canadian born citizen and your non-profit contribution can be committed to the rights and protection of vulnerable migrants as well help them to overcome language barriers when finding a job or registering for education in Canada. This will help to make an easier settlement for them when they arrive (Aranda, et al). I reassure my sources meet professionally and academically criteria. The sources used answer most of my research concerns and are written by a credible authors and organizations. My sources are from government sites and I also include peer-review journals.
