The program that is in Washington State that is currently used with juveniles that aims to handle or prevent crimes in the population or to rehabilitate the youth. Crimes that are related to drugs, addictions, sex abuse, cyber-crimes, mental illness, and disabilities. Washington state Department of Children, Youth, and families. At DCYF rehabilitation helps Washington states high risk youth. Many youth that come through DCFY have committed low to high serious crimes. In Washington state it is the only state that handles sentencing that is determinate's the structure of committing juvenile
offenders. Young juveniles who are in juvenile rehabilitation will go through the court process and will receive minimum or maximum sentence terms. The youths sentence term and length are determined using a system of points that are considerable in their seriousness of their offense. DCFY comes to an understanding of the youth's behavior, responsibilities, if they have remorse, showing action to improve the damage that was done, and developmental capabilities to see if the youth will be integrated and respect the community. DCYF also facilitates have programs and interventions to help aid crime victims, members of the community, and most importantly help juvenile offenders seek practical decisions to delinquency. The programs approach is balanced due to the crimes that the juveniles commit. According to the (BARJ) the DCFY program outlines new missions, justice revamp, and an alternative approach. Juvenile justice professionals are also involved in their delinquency. The justice professionals are used for the juveniles to not commit offences again and be repeat offenders on victims or in a community. They are used to reduce the offender's crimes (if not none at all) and to help make juvenile's competencies' in their own communities ( Department of Children, Youth & Families , n.d.).
