About the Module Module Description This module is built around the opportunity to develop practical skills while undertaking your own pilot research. By engaging with key issues related to the production of socially-beneficial knowledge, the diverse dilemmas that researchers face, and the creativity that is possible when developing methodologies, we will explore how research methods are not just about strict rules or processes, but involve imagination, anticipation, experimentation, and careful justification. It will help you to develop skills that will support your final-year dissertation (where relevant), as well as when you are applying for jobs and trying to evidence how you have been able to manage projects, collect and interpret data, and reflect critically on your learning. Module Convenor Dr Catherine Oliver Lecturer in Sociology [email protected] Teaching Staf Dr Nicola Spurling Senior Lecturer in Sociology [email protected] Dr Yan Wang Lecturer in Digital Sociology [email protected] Please see Moodle for details of staf guidance and feedback hours.
