LWALDR102 Investigate fundamentals of leadership UNIT CODE LWALDR102 UNIT TITLE Investigate fundamentals of leadership APPLICATION This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to identify the attributes of effective leaders and the impact leaders may have on others. The unit of competency is applied by individuals to increase their understanding of the fundamentals of leadership including: attributes and styles, effectiveness and ineffectiveness. It is a basis for understanding leadership within interpersonal and employment settings. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication . ELEMENT PERFORMANCE CRITERIA Elements describe the essential outcomes. TITLE Assessment requirements for LWALDR102 - Investigate Fundamentals of Leadership PERFORMANCE EVIDENCE To achieve competency in this unit a person must satisfy the requirements of the elements and performance criteria, foundation skills and range of conditions included in the unit. A person who demonstrates competency in this unit must be able to provide evidence of the ability to: identify a range of leadership attributes and styles research and present information on a historical or contemporary leader KNOWLEDGE EVIDENCE To achieve competency in this unit, a person must demonstrate knowledge of: types of leadership styles attributes of an effective / ineffective leaders historical and contemporary leaders ASSESSMENT CONDITIONS Assessment must address the scope of this unit and reflect all components. A range of appropriate assessment methods and evidence gathering techniques must be used to determine competency. A judgement of competency should only be made when the assessor is confident that the required outcomes of the unit have been achieved and that consistent performance has been demonstrated. Assessment must provide for the needs of the learner and maximise opportunities to demonstrate competence. Assessment must meet the articulated standards of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 1. Assessors must satisfy the assessor requirements in the standards for registered training organisation (RTOs) current at the time of assessment.
