Putnam (2016) asserts that a collection of moral and ethical values constitutes the ethical foundation. These ideals must triumph over any human defence, frailty, ego, or shortcoming. As the phrase goes, being truthful is still the best course of action. Declaring your genuineness in employee handbooks is no longer appropriate. Trust is difficult to obtain and even more challenging to regain once lost. Respect is not only a feeling; it is a manifestation of honor, decency, and respect for something or someone. Every worker has to understand how they affect profitability. The real test of this concept is what happens next. The corporation needs to actively "sell" and "market" good ethics, they should be most visible at the top. Everything from brand reputation and public perception to staff productivity and total profitability can be affected by business ethics. Maintaining certain moral standards and values is a very important factor for the success and longevity of your company. An important part of your personal ethics statement is identifying your personal beliefs and personal values. Some examples of my personal code of ethics that I think are very important are integrity, honesty, loyalty, fairness, empathy, respect for others. To sort this personal ethics I think the most important thing for me is to start with honesty, I am a person who attaches great importance to honesty both at work and in life. I think honesty is very important and really shows the value of a person. Then after honesty, what I think is also important is respecting other people, regardless of our position. We must not look down on others and must respect each other. Being an empathetic and caring person is also very important to me. This is because sometimes not everything can be carried out according to the rules but must be adjusted to the circumstances, if I can be a person who has empathy then I will be able to make the right decisions and what is needed. Another ethic that I find important and that I really value is loyalty. I really look up to people who are loyal, this shows many things and qualities of that person. In conclusion, upholding ethical standards is crucial for many reasons, and many contemporary customers view it as a key selling element. You can create a better culture, improve your company's brand, and feel good about yourself for making a difference by taking action to encourage ethics in the workplace.
