Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities
Reflection Paper
As a student at Northern Arizona University, I can participate in any free idea discussion. I also
have the right to participate in all activities of the University, free from any form of
discrimination based on race, color, nationality or ethnic origin, religion, sex, disability, age, or
sexual orientation. Lastly, I may be subjected to corrective action surfacing from violations of
University Student Rules and be guaranteed a fair process.
I have the responsibility to respect the rights and property of others, including my peers, staff,
and University officials. I must be familiarized with the University Student Rules and comply
with them with federal, state, and local laws. And maintain a behavior consistent in supporting
the institution's learning environment and recognizing the University's commitment to providing
an atmosphere for learning.
The consequences of this action were a University Warning and a 250-word reflection paper.
With advice from staff, I know how to use the 3-door warning when we have people over and to
be cautious of our noise level. I have learned to be aware of my surroundings and avoid getting
into this situation again. If I do this again or something worse, it can lead to more consequences,
such as reassignment, suspension, or termination.
