Hunter Risdon's Equity Portfolio Portfolio of Securities Apple Inc. (AAPL) Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) Inc. (AMZN) Bank of America Corp. (BAC) Benchmark S&P 500, being one of the most followed equity indices, is a stock market index tracking the stock performance of 500 large companies listed on stock exchanges in the United States. U.S. business activity recovered moderately and moved out of contraction territory in February, a sign that the economic outlook is stabilizing despite the rapid increase in interest rates aimed at cooling inflation. According to a preliminary report from S&P Global, its U.S. Flash Composite PMI recovered for the second consecutive month, rising to 50.2 from 46.8 previously, topping expectations calling for an advance to 47.5 and reaching its best level since June 2022 amid improving demand conditions. As of Feb 24, 2023, the S&P 500 Portfolio returned 4.77% Year-To-Date and 12.26% of annualized return in the last 10 years. The current S&P 500 Portfolio Sharpe ratio is -0.22. This means that the risk-free rate is higher than the portfolio's return. Investing Style Based on my portfolio securities and personal principles, the investment strategy is passive. This is also considered a buy and hold philosophy, being a straightforward investment approach that avoids frequent buying and selling and seeks to invest in securities likely to grow over the long term. For example, the S&P 500 experienced annual losses in only 11 of the 47 years from 1975 to 2022, demonstrating that the stock market generates returns much more often than it doesn't. As a beginner in investing, the four stock I have chosen are non-versatile, and predictable. In its most recent quarter, which ended on Dec. 26, the tech giant racked up record quarterly sales of more than $100 billion for the first time as iPhone demand rebounded and all the company's other sales categories also churned out revenue increases well into the double digits. The holiday quarter got a boost from Apple's launch of its 5G iPhone 12 models, which helped lift revenue in the company's biggest sales category by 17% year over year. That followed the previous quarter's iPhone sales slump as people waited for the new models to be released. Meanwhile, Mac sales rose 21% year over year, iPad revenue was up 41%, and the wearables, home, and accessories category (which includes the Apple Watch) saw a 30% jump in sales. Apple's high-margin services business grew by 24%. All that sales growth helped the company beat Wall Street estimates on its top and bottom lines, with total revenue topping $111 billion and earnings per share (EPS) clocking in at $1.68. EPS grew by 35% year over year in its fiscal 2021 first quarter, which is astounding for a company of its size. Despite some broad market weakness, (ticker: AMZN) is once again within a stone's throw of a $1 trillion market cap after reporting blowout fourth-quarter numbers. Amazon's stock price gained more than 7% on better-than-expected sales and cloud revenue. Earnings per share were particularly strong, exceeding consensus analyst estimates by more than 60%. Amazon's big quarter has reassured the market that the company is still making the right calls on investing in its business.
