Enthymeme
The major take away I took with this video is that even though memes and enthymemes
aren't linguistically related, the two are still powerfully connected and are used to draw
assumptions based on common cultural knowledge. Also both memes and enthymemes coincide
together, in pictures, sounds and other forms of media. What makes a meme successful though
and more related to enthymemes is how understood they are by many, making them go viral or
seen by many because of the knowledge that everyone can draw from it. What i noticed from
watching this video is that both enthymemes and memes have been around a long time, even
without the generic meme where the words are put across a picture to suggest a cultural joke.
They've existed within our own conscious when we tend to see someone and perform our own
assumptions as well as other forms of social media.
