Photo of a chalkboard: The words In this module we will explore not just the importance of planning, but the different types of planning and plans that managers are responsible for within the organization. Many of the managers' planning activities are established during the early stages of an organization through its business plan. The business plan provides the foundation for planning activities, but as the business grows and develops it's the manager's responsibility to adapt and take the plans to the next level.  A business without solid strategic, operational, and contingency plans will have a hard time meeting its organizational goals—unless it intends to survive by luck alone.

In this section we'll see what effective planning looks like from the manager's perspective.
