Lonsdale Institute PTY LTD Assessment Task BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management BSBCMM511 -Communicate with influence Communicate clearly Present and negotiate persuasively Participate in and lead meeting effectively Make presentations at meetings, forums, and conferences Read each task carefully and address all that is required. In Section One, you will choose one of 3 scenarios and conduct a meeting, The meeting may include 2-4 people and the key focus is to negotiate differing viewpoints and to consider ways of how best to resolve. This is to be completed by making a video. Section Two should be based on a different organisation - ideally, choose an industry that you are familiar with. Your goal is to make a specific proposal to stakeholders, who may be relevant members of your organisation. Before you make the proposal presentation, you will have a preparation meeting, either with the same stakeholders or perhaps, consultants, who will guide your preparation. You will need to complete the relevant documents as evidence of conducting this meeting. For the actual proposal presentation (task 4), this must be conducted live (NOT video) inf front of a trainer, and hopefully other students roleplaying as stakeholders and asking questions at the end of your proposal presentation Consult with your trainer and assessor for advice in selecting an appropriate topic to complete the assessment effectively SECTION ONE TASK 1 DISCUSS AND NEGOTIATING DIFFERING VIEWS IN A MEETING Choose one of 3 scenarios: OVERVIEW AND INSTRUCTIONS a) Once you have chosen one of the above scenarios - indicate which one below. Provide a short-written summary of which scenario you have chosen and why. Describe who will be involved in the video and what specifically their TA102 FO Assessment Task Page 2 of 9 TA102 PP Assessment Management (SNR1.8) (ESOS 14.2) V1 Feb 2022 Lonsdale Institute Pty Ltd Provider ID 21915 CRICOS Code 02836F Restaurant where chef and the owners and marketing staff (if you have enough people) have very different views on how best to update the menu Board meeting for a manufacturing company where there are differing views about the urgency of becoming more sustainable Start-up company where key stakeholders have differing views about the best process for recruiting staff
Lonsdale Institute PTY LTD Assessment Task BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management BSBCMM511 -Communicate with influence views are b) It is a good idea to script your video. Remember it is a meeting so there should be at least 2 people talking and exchanging views. Minimum 3 minutes, Maximum 5 minutes c) You will need to submit your video on Moodle so research the best tool to use for recording and/ or compressing your video file so that is less than 20MB Here plan and summarise your short video project Having chosen one of the scenarios, expand on the details. Discuss the roles of the people who will appear in the video and detail what are their differing views. Identify different communication techniques and styles that will be used by the performers in the video. Finally, how the issue will be resolved and what kind of documentation will support the implementation of the resolution. (100 words) The chosen scenario is that of the restaurant where the chef, the owners and the marketing staff (if you have enough people) have very different points of view on the best way to update the menu, since it is a viable scenario to work and they can make different decisions according to this. The roles of the people will be that of the chef, the owners and the marketing staff, which in this case will be three people who will represent these roles. The chef has a very minimalist and modern point of view, since being a professional on the subject he thinks that it is good to innovate for the clients, the owners base themselves on updating the menu to something more traditional that does not attract much attention and that I assured them that the customers will be happy and that the marketing staff have no idea about the menu but they do give excellent ideas regarding advertising strategies and that they will easily adapt to the menu they choose. The communication of the video is assertive, since what is sought with this is that the best decisions are made according to the menu.
