Start of industrialization in 19 century, human activity lead to increase of c02. Got a decrease due to pandemic in 2020 but increase back in 2021 Graph shows 2016 was warmest year. 10 warmest years all occur since 2005. Temp increase by .08 per decade since 1890. Wildlife and human society. Extreme weather hit poor country the worse tho they contribute lesser to the emission. Interdisciplinary Complex sustainability problems Have multiple cases, hard to define problem, solution not clear cut, no right or wrong Solutions ramified through system, take long time to evaluate Fundamental inequality or justice? Which country have highest emission cause other country suffer Rich country pledged to donate 100 billion by 2020 to help them adapt to climate change but this target not met Understand human behavior is key to change lifestyle How to change human behaviors Circular economy 1. Eliminate waste and pollution 2. Circulate products and materials (products designed to be reused or manufactures or repairs as long as not in land fill or ocean) 3. Regenerate nature (leave in ground become food to other plants) From environmental perspective, climate change and environmental change is due to law of nature Intrinsic value of nature: human depend on natural resources Can use natural solutions for climate change like mangrove forest cos it helps in flooding, store carbon in soil keeps them out of the atmosphere. Plant support biodiversity of species to fish, crab birds. More green spaces, more wildlife. Education and appreciation of wildlife help human coexist with wildlife.
