Animal Classification The dodo bird was a unique bird that could not fly. Unfortunately, there are no more dodo birds on earth. Squirrels are a species that have adequate food, shelter, and few predators. They have no outside threats to their population. Due to deforestation and habitat loss, the population of orangutans is decreasing at a very rapid pace! If their habitats continue to be destroyed, they might become extinct. The population of polar bears is steadily decreasing due to effects of climate change. Their arctic habitats are melting. If their population continues to decrease, they might become endangered.
